Your words stay yours
Peace Room works only if you can speak freely. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, who can see it, and the choices you always have.

Our promises
Four things we always do
Private by design
Your private conversation with the AI Peace Guide can be read only by you. Not by other participants, and not even by the room creator.
Shared only with your approval
Nothing reaches the room until you approve it. You edit and confirm every Peace Translation before anyone else sees it.
Never used to train AI
Your private conversations are not used to train AI models, by us or by the AI provider we work with.
Leave and delete any time
You can withdraw from a room whenever you like and have your private data permanently deleted.
Who can see what
Every piece of information, and who can see it
| Information | You | Other participants | Room creator | AI Peace Guide | Peace9 reviewer |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Your private conversation | To reply to you | ||||
| Your approved Peace Translation | |||||
| Messages you publish to the room | Only if reported | ||||
| Your decision on the agreement | |||||
| Your email and phone number | Never | Only the email they invited |
Other participants only ever see your first name. Contact details are never shown between participants.
What we collect
We collect only what Peace Room needs to work:
- Your account details: first name, last name, email address and, when you create a room, a phone number.
- Room details: the type of issue, what you are upset about, what happened, your ask, your location, and the date, time and time zone a room was created (recorded by our system).
- Your private conversation: the messages you exchange with the AI Peace Guide, and the Peace Translation drafts it helps you write.
- Shared content: the translations you approve, the messages you publish, and your decisions on the agreement.
- Consent and activity records: your adult confirmation, the consents you give, and a log of key events such as invitations sent, approvals and room closure. This log never contains the text of your messages.
- Safety reports: whatever you choose to include when you report a concern.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- run your Peace Room and let you take part in the conversation;
- send the invitations and the few notifications the process needs;
- help the AI Peace Guide listen, translate and suggest common ground;
- keep everyone safe, including reviewing reports and blocking harmful messages;
- keep Peace Room secure and working.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
AI and your conversations
Peace Room uses an AI provider to write the Peace Guide's replies and your translations. The AI works in two separate scopes:
- Private scope: when it talks with you, it can read only your own conversation and the current description of your ask.
- Shared scope: when it looks for common interests or drafts an agreement, it can read only approved translations, published messages and the current agreement. It has no access to anyone's private conversation.
Your words are sent to the provider only to produce a reply. They are not used to train AI models. The AI never takes a side, never declares a winner, and never speaks for you.
Safety and reports
Messages and AI replies are checked for threats, abuse, harassment, coercion and signs that someone may be at risk. A flagged message is not published. The author sees supportive guidance instead.
When you report a concern, a Peace9 reviewer sees only the content you submit in the report, never your full private conversation. Peace Room is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can withdraw from a room at any time from the Withdraw & Delete My Data page. When you do:
- your private conversation and drafts are permanently deleted;
- you lose access to the room immediately;
- messages you already published stay visible to the others, but show as written by a participant who withdrew;
- you no longer count toward the approvals an agreement needs.
Nothing from a room is kept for future research or learning unless you give your consent when the room closes. That consent is optional, off by default, and covers only de-identified lessons.
How we protect it
- Information is encrypted while it travels between your device and Peace Room.
- Access is enforced in the database itself, so a private message can be read only by the person who wrote it.
- Invitation links are single use, expire after 7 days, and are stored only in scrambled form.
- All AI requests are made from our servers. No keys or secrets reach your browser.
Adults only
Peace Room is for people aged 18 and over. You confirm this, and agree to the consent terms, before your first private conversation. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this page
If we change how Peace Room handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we will tell people who have an account.
